Connect sociological theory to Malaysian and comparative industrial and occupational change.
Teaching profile
Theory earns its place when students can use it.
My teaching connects sociological concepts with Malaysian and comparative experiences, then gives students structured ways to work with those ideas independently.
01 / Approach
From abstract idea to social explanation.
I treat theory as a tool for making patterned social change visible. The learning task is not simply to remember a concept, but to recognise what it reveals, where it fits, and how its limits become apparent in context.
In undergraduate sociology teaching, I connected theory with Malaysian and comparative industrial, occupational, and social change. I also designed self-instructional materials to support distance and independent learning.
02 / Teaching practice
Learning through use.
Four documented practices shape how I organise teaching and student support.
Design self-instructional materials that structure learning beyond the classroom.
Use assessment, grading, consultation, and structured feedback to clarify expectations and next steps.
03 / Experience
Part-time Lecturer
Universiti Sains Malaysia
2022–2023
Industrialisation and Social Change
Delivered undergraduate sociology teaching on industrialisation and social change, connecting sociological ideas to transformations in work, occupations, education, skills, and Malaysian society.
Learning materials
Developed self-instructional resources for distance and asynchronous learning.
Student support
Conducted assessment, grading, academic consultation, and structured feedback.
Research-informed teaching
A classroom can make structure visible.
My research on health and social inequity keeps teaching connected to live questions about institutions, culture, work, evidence, and unequal life chances.
